A con man steals $ 1.5 million of ethers to high net worth investors

This is a terrible scam which has raged in recent days. Some investors of the ICO in the start-up Seele have been robbed of $ 1.5 million dollars by an impostor.

A false private sale announced

Seele is a project that presents itself as a BlockChain 4.0. We find in particular video games or even applications to be visionary. And very soon, the start-up needs to launch a sale of tokens. That said, to date, no launch date has been announced.

Unfortunately, an imposter has found a solution to recover the money. Indeed, on the channel Telegram of Seele, he presented himself as a member of the team. And he proposed to some members fortunate to participate in a private sale. To qualify for the benefits, it was necessary to send him to the ethers.

A responsibility is fully assumed

The start-up was quickly informed of this scam. The leaders came out of silence to warn internet users, asking them not to send the slightest ether to this scammer.

The company has recognized its responsibility in an official press release : “A con man, using the alias “@nicsmith” and “@seelesupport” has attempted to usurp the identity of one of the members of our team, and some investors have lost money. We recognize the situation, and we let you know that we will find a solution to repair the situation, for all members of the community who have lost money because of this problem. “

An emergency team has been put in place on this Tuesday, February 6, in order to minimise the financial loss of the victims, and find a compensation plan as quickly as possible. But for now, this is a sum which amounted to $ 1.5 million, which is in the nature.

Unfortunately, this is not the first time a crook takes it to investors. The international groundswell of interest generated around the ICO made many envious, and too many victims. The caution is warranted.
